Q. Why can’t I lose weight?
A. The number 1 reason for unexplained weight gain or inability to lose weight is low thyroid hormone. This condition is often missed by many physicians because they use the wrong tests of thyroid or interpret the results of test improperly. To truly test thyroid function one must get the following tests: TSH, free T4, free T3, Reverse T3, and Anti-thyroid antibodies. Q. Why don’t I see results from my workouts?
A. If you’re Testosterone level is suboptimal, whether you’re male or female, when you workout your muscles will get tired and sore but not become stronger. The main reason for ineffective workouts is low testosterone.
Q. How can I get restful, restorative sleep?
A. It is best to start with good sleep hygiene. That means the room is very dark and cool. Consider journaling for 15 minutes prior to going to bed. Dim the lights for an hour or so before sleep. Some supplements that could be helpful are Melatonin, GABA, L-Theanine, Valarian Root and 5-HTP.
Q. Why am I forgetful, feel like I am in a fog?
A. Brain fog and forgetfulness can also be attributed to low thyroid, un-refreshing sleep, and other hormone imbalances. There are also a number of supplements that can help with memory.
Q. Why am I irritable, can’t handle stress?
A. Irritability and inability to handle stress can be from low cortisol or in men also low testosterone. One way to reduce stress is to meditate, practicing Yoga, Tai Chi, and mindfulness. It is best to do this daily for 20 to 30 minutes.
Q. Why do I have hot flashes, or breast tenderness, or dryness in the vagina?
A. Those symptoms can be attributed to unbalance estrogen, either too little or too much. It is best to test for the estrogen level, you can use either the serum or saliva and to replace the lacking estrogen. The best form is transdermal and both Estradiol and Estriol.
Q. Why do I have difficulty maintaining my erection?
A. Erectile dysfunction can be a symptom of low testosterone. It also can be an indication that there is interference with blood flow to the penis. This interference of blood flow could be due to atherosclerosis and there are treatments for that condition.
Q. Why has the passion gone out of my life?
