What is Anti-Aging Medicine?
Anti-Aging medicine is a new paradigm in health care. Standard medicine focuses on detection and treatment of disease primarily through the use of drugs (or treatments) and surgery. Anti-Aging Medicine concentrates more on prevention of disease before it starts and the consequences of normal aging.
The goal here is to use proven, safe, modern scientific methods to ameliorate the disabilities associated with the normal aging process, especially those caused by the physiological dysfunctions of the body. We still employ the usual tools of allopathic medicine, namely prescription medications, hormones, and surgery when indicated. However, we add to those tools potent nutriceuticals intervention (high-dose vitamin and supplement therapy, both oral and intravenous), exercise (for balance, coordination and strength training), and optimal nutrition to achieve this goal. Simply put, anyone can function at or near optimal capacity until just before life’s end and in doing so extend not just life but abundant life. Perhaps the graph below will help in understanding.

Around the age of forty a slow decline begins so that often the last 30 or so years are a time of
dysfunction rather than healthy, highly productive and enjoyable years.
